North Carolina Golf Vacation

Ask most golfers about their recent North Carolina golf vacation and they will most likely tell you about their golf trip to the North Carolina coast. The golf and beaches are great up and down the coast but don’t forget about the other great golf destinations in the state. Below, I’ve listed a few North Carolina golf package destinations you should definitely check out.

Raleigh – The capital city is a great place to start your state-wide golf vacation. It is centrally located and easily accessible by air or ground. The Raleigh-Durham International Airport offers more than 400 flights daily and I-40 runs through Raleigh, NC while I-95 and I-85 pass within 25 miles. In recent years, the city has seen an increase in quality golf courses. Make sure to book a few rounds at The Neuse Golf Course, Lechmere Golf Club and Crooked Creek Golf Club.

Charlotte – The Queen City has a mild climate which allows you to book golf packages and play comfortably almost any time of the year. With professional sports – NFL, NBA and NASCAR – and other dining and entertainment options, you’ll find plenty off the course to keep you busy. When you are teeing it up, try Galantine Resort Golf Course, Sky brook Golf Course, Bridal and Highland Creek to name a few.

Top 5 Things to Do Before Going Out

Nobody wants to experience a layover when travelling, most especially if you’re flying from LAX Airport. Unfortunately, encountering a layover is something that you have no control of. You are lucky if the layover is only for a couple of hours. Some layover can even last up to 12 hours. So you can either complain about it or you can prepare your walking shoes and explore the interesting places around LAX.

But before going anywhere, here are first five things you should do:

1. Plan ahead of time.

When packing, make sure to include a paperback book or a hand-held game consoles such as PSP and Nintendo DS on your hand luggage. In this way, if you experience a layover for a couple of hours, you’ll have an easy fix to kill time.

2. Keep luggage secure.

If the layover is more than four hours and you want to go out of LAX, make sure your luggage is secure. You can try to have them checked and transferred to the flight automatically like you normally would. If that is not an option, you can also use the LAX Luggage Storage for a minimal amount. This will provide you with the peace of mind while you enjoy going around Los Angeles.

3. Create an itinerary.

Creating a list of activities to do will help you stay on schedule. If you don’t have any ideas of what to do, you can approach someone from the Travelers Aid Booth. These booths are located on the lower level of each terminal near the baggage reclaim. They can give you a lot of ideas for fun things to do

4. Check traffic.

Before even considering going out, make sure to check the traffic and road condition. Traffic in LAX Airport and Los Angeles can be very frustrating most especially during weekdays. You can check Google Maps for directions and Signaler for traffic updates. Google Maps will tell you the approximate travel time with or without traffic. Signaler can give you a practically real time traffic condition. Make sure you are back at the airport at least an hour and a half before your actual flight.

5. Choose best transportation.

After creating your itinerary and checking travel time, consider your transportation options. A free shuttle bus serves all the terminals around the central loop. If you’re going to downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood, or nearby beaches, you can take a cab, the Metro Rail, or better yet you can hire a town car service to drive you around.
