I wrote about the decision by the U.S. Supreme Court said Monday that the federal government now has the power to keep some sex randka offenders behind bars indefinitely after serving their sentences if officials determine the inmate can prove that the sex randki in the future. I was shocked that the government would come to such conclusions and make a decision.
As Justice Breyer wrote Stephon “The federal government, as prisoners from custody, has the constitutional authority to act to protect the closest (and other) communities against the dangers of these detainees could lead to,” he also compared the federal statute authorized civil commitment of the former Congress to provide mental health care of detainees in custody, if they could prove dangerous, sexual or otherwise. ”
I do not know, he clearly understood that the man who was held under civil commitment PAS detained in psychiatric facilities or anywhere where they get help. Most were detained in ordinary prisons. In fact, NJ has just moved 252 inmates from a prison to install them only for sex offenders. They do not guarantee or provide appropriate treatment, but to save $ 2.9 million.
